This season I've been tending to my heart as the general state of affairs can be heavy at times. The thing is I need to also focus on my other aspects of life that can be challenging as well. Heart tonics are the perfect herbs to help with this, such as Crataegus monogyna (Hawthorn - berry and leaf), Rosa spp. (Rose Hips), Rubus idaeus (Raspberry leaf), as well as immune-stimulating herbs (Astragulus), Shiitake and Blood strengthening, adapotogenics and all around good herbs (Reishi mushroom). I like my other variety of mineral rich herbs such as kelp, nettle, and a little bit of moistening herbs (such as althea-marshmallow root). And of course something to focus on the gut--in this broth I used Calendula.
