Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Clinical Herbalist?

As a clinical herbalist, I focus on supporting your whole state of well-being, mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, and socially. This includes examining, investigating and removing obstacles to your vital life power and ultimately addressing the root cause of disease or imbalance. Furthermore, I honor nature’s vital intelligence by supporting your body’s natural healing abilities including in situations of acute and chronic illness.

My role as your holistic health partner is to help you achieve your wellness goals via accountability, education, and coaching. I am committed to practicing with compassion while providing a safe and supportive environment for you to share your personal story. I'm trained to assess your overall health and well-being, and as a result I create wellness protocols using herbal therapies, nutrition, and lifestyle practices to address imbalances from a holistic perspective. I am not a licensed medical doctor, and do not claim to treat, diagnose, prevent or cure any disease.

Benefits of Seeing a Clinical Herbalist

Working with a clinical herbalist can be incredibly empowering and enlightening, and can ensure you are making safe and educated decisions about using herbs to support your health and wellbeing. To this end, one of the biggest benefits of seeing a clinical herbalist is guidance and education.

Clinical herbalists have extensive knowledge and experience working with herbs in a clinical setting. They have in-depth training on the herbs themselves, know their best dispensed forms depending on the ailment & person, are trained to formulate based on constitution & tissue states, are able to interpret scientific research, and can assess possible herb-drug interactions.

Clinical herbalists are committed to providing a safe and supportive environment to their clients, whereas this may be impossible for other practitioners to provide. Clients will have the opportunity to share their concerns and joys alike in each session. This is important as many people feel that part of their healing comes with sharing their personal story and being heard. Clinical herbalists understand that our life experiences can shape and craft our physical well-being, and these aspects of our lives are taken into consideration when they develop personalized wellness plans for their clients.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?

Please provide at minimum 48 hours in advance for appointments that need to be rescheduled or cancelled. If you reschedule or cancel within the 48 hour time frame, you will be charged a $35 cancellation fee.

Where are sessions held?

Currently, I hold all sessions online via Skype which is a free online video calling service.

Do you facilitate in-person sessions?

Currently due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I am not offering sessions in-person. I hope to have in-person options available later in 2021. Stay tuned!

I am interested in either a sliding-scale session or payment plan. How do I go about signing up for such a thing?

Please download and complete the Sliding Scale Form so that I can be aware of your financial situation. Please clarify if you are applying for a payment plan or need to pay for a session utilizing the sliding scale. If you sign up for a payment plan, this document will also serve as the repayment contract.

Also, if you are someone who would like to support a new paradigm of health equity and have the extra financial resources to do so, please consider paying at the higher end of our sliding scale. This will provide more opportunities for clients who need to use the lower end of our sliding scale.

Please Note: In order to run a financially sustainable business, the number of consultations I can take on below market price is determined by the number of above-market rate sessions purchased. This number is analyzed each quarter. This ensures that, as the practitioner, I receive a livable working wage. For those needing to utilize the low end of the scale (or below it), priority will be given to folks with more than one marginalized identity, including low-income, BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and womxn (although sliding-scale is open to all who apply).

Who do you work with?

I work with people who want to reclaim sovereignty over their health and are committed to their healing process. True healing happens when one is dedicated, consistent, patient, and puts the work into healing themselves.

My clinical work is especially focused on chronic stress & anxiety, depression, digestive problems, allergies, hormone imbalance, chronic pain, migraines, sleeping disorders, PMS & menopause complaints, autoimmune conditions, Diabetes Type II & insulin resistance, navigating weight-loss, and weight management.

I do not discriminate based on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, ability, marital status, or national original (ethnicity) in any of my work.

Where do I get my herbs and/or supplements?

I work with the Colorado School of Clinical Herbalism for herbal orders. In instances I cannot order herbs through CSCH, I will source herbs from other local apothecaries, local/online herbal suppliers, and local organic & biodynamic farms.

Currently, I do not have a way to directly provide you with nutritional supplements, however I will be adding this option later in 2021--stay tuned! In the meantime, I can recommend high quality supplements & help you research added ingredients. You can order high quality supplements at discounted prices through vitacost.com & nhc.com.
